from peer to eternity

I’ll happily mentor anyone who wants mentoring, and most of that goes on by internet rather than face to face. …..Bernard Cornwell

went to the advisory committee meeting today. the group is shaping and honing the credenitaling process for peer recovery support specialists in colorado. as is always the case, the gallimaufry of personalities brought no real surprises. i left a bit disillusioned, but that is a mainstay of my personality and perception none-the-less.

60 hours of trainings within the last 5 years plus 500 hours of peer support related work will be the requirement for new certified support specialists. persons already established in the field in colorado will most likey be grandparented in.

the testing process will be through IC & RC which colorado will recognize. i will share some of the advisory committee consensus and  process here as it rolls along. hope it catches on…
